The College Keeper Term Program is designed to give participants in Year 10-12 a focused understanding of caring for one section of the zoo. 


During the eight week term, College Keepers will gain hands on animal husbandry practice as they care for a select group of animals. Over the course of the 8 week term, College Keepers will learn how we clean, maintain, train, enrich and prepare the food for their own section. This continued work will allow participants to build rapport, notice changes in behaviour and physicality, and gain an understanding of caring for animals over an extended period of time. 


Many of our animals are early risers, so Zoo Keepers are too! College Keeper sessions will run from 7am-8am on a Tuesday morning in weeks 2-9 of Term 2, 2024. Term 2 will focus on our Reptiles & Aquarium in the hopes we don't freeze over winter!
